Vince Zampella, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The renowned video game developer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in LA on Sunday, as reported by.
