President Trump Welcomes Relatives of Injured Military Personnel to the Presidential Residence

President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Call

The president said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to visit the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
