Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
