Prosecutors report that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
