The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the National Football League

That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this season

Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East

In Focus - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed

Henderson clocked the fifth fastest velocity in the league this season

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three 8-2 teams in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their total twenty-four wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Orchard Park seems like a statement

Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was significant

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his team to success

The defensive unit is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a successful opponent, although a huge one against Buffalo

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three eight and two teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to reach 7-2 ahead of next week's major meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

They've both won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a game

Both could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly two of the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
