The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's understandable for concerns to be raised about his future after another convincing defeat versus the Dutch champions.
The Reds endured their 9th defeat in 12 matches, representing the club's poorest streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.
They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a tough night at their home ground.
“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I've received significant support from management,” Slot stated.
“It's important to turn it around and earn three points of course but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”
He noted, “I accept my situation. It is not the first time I've found myself in a tough spot but it's crucial that we turned it around.”
When asked to expand on his discussions with the team officials, Slot explained:
“We talk a lot. They are supportive for the squad and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me every single minute each day to say they have faith in me.”
He added, “During our regular conversations we have I feel the belief. But I haven’t spoken to them after this match so far so let’s see.”
The manager lamented familiar shortcomings from his squad in their European defeat, namely wasted chances and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was more direct in his assessment of the club’s predicament.
“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones said.
“It’s just not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad internally. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”
He added, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I'm a supporter, and I've watched this club since I was young.”
“For many years, I've not seen a Liverpool team going through a spell like this with outcomes like these.”
Jones concluded, “But we continue to wear that badge on our shirts. And as long as that badge is taken away, we'll continue to battle.”
“Our aim is to get this team return to the top, prove once more what this club is about and why people call it the top club in the world.”
“At this moment, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
